Zlatko Prica was born June 26. 1916 in Pécs under the name Zoltan Ödön. 1922 with his mother moved to Zagreb where he enrolled in the Academy of Art in 1936, passing through the classes of fine art pedagogues: Omer mujađić, Krste Hegedušić and Ljube Babić. At the graduation thesis of the final year, the Academy College awarded him the Paris scholarship as an exceptional talent.
Pricin creativity can be observed through the stages: the first, which includes time before the academy, then the "Samobor cycle", "the fruits of the land" and "the people and the fruits", "Tarski cycle", "the Opatija umbrellas" and the last "Women" phase.
As a well-known painter he returns to Samobor, where he works again, as he said "from the beginning, ab this". At that time, his work was recognized abroad and exhibited in Venice, London. At the end of life he creates a small fishermen's place in Istria, where he creates his most fertile "Tarski" cycle. In 2002 he fulfilled his great desire - the opening of the Zlatko Gallery and Vesna Prica. A year later, he dies in Rijeka in 2013.
